SONGBILDER

Experiences that bring people together

Who am I?

My name is Torsten Schürmann.

My alias – my American name on YouTube – is Michael T. Sager.

I look back on 57 years of life experience and have been living in Hungary for the past four years – in a beautiful traditional Swabian house that has become a place of peace and inspiration for me.

How did the idea begin?

I have been writing poetry since 1986.

Some time ago, I came across the book “Deutsche Dichter und Denker” again, in which several of my poems were published.

While reading one of these poems – “Das Exempel”, which today bears the title “Bitterkalte Nacht” – something special happened:

I asked myself:

What if these words could become music?

That moment gave birth to the idea of not only reading poetry, but making it something people could hear and feel.

What drives me?

I am not a major producer, nor am I an event organizer.

I am simply someone who, at some point, began turning thoughts, feelings and memories into songs.

Along the way, I discovered that music can be much more than entertainment. Music can awaken memories, bring people together and create moments we share.

That is how the idea of SONGBILDER came to life.

What do I hope to achieve?

What began as a simple idea grew into a desire to bring people together through music.

SONGBILDER is meant to be more than just a collection of songs. It is meant to create experiences – moments that people will remember fondly.

Because sometimes, all it takes is a melody, a word or a voice to bring a memory back to life.

Words can be a sharp sword and cause great pain.

But they can also be a balm for the soul.

Why SONGBILDER?

In my poems, I explore experiences and emotions that almost everyone has encountered at some point in their life.

They are not complicated stories, but moments from life: joy, hope, love, loss, memories and encounters.

With my words, I want to create images – images that everyone can understand and in which everyone may recognize a little of themselves.

When these words became songs, something new emerged: the images were given a melody, a voice and a feeling.

From this connection between words, music and memories, the idea of SONGBILDER was born.

Because sometimes, a song can create an image in your heart that you will never forget.
